A separate mailing from the same company, again unsolicited, inviting the mother to sign up for the baby club. The invitation featured a picture of a mother cradling a baby with a pacifier, and the slogan I’m thinking of getting a t-shirt made – ‘Danger! Sore boobs! above the Cow & Gate logo used for breastmilk substitutes. Incorrect information like this can undermine mother's confidence to breastfeed exclusively.

Where: Kiev, Ukraine
When:
dd/mm/yyyy)  Hot-line working every day until now. I found the stall on 1 August 2006.
Company name:
 Nutricia
Type of product:
Scanned leaflet (1 page) and photo depicting point of dissemination of leaflets.

Description: Ukraine has been running a project called “ Milk’s sources”, that is sponsored by Nutricia. In parks of Kiev (capital of Ukraine) you can see stalls, providing leaflets on questions of breastfeeding, which also include the call number of a hot-line, that allegedly  “supports breastfeeding”. When you call up, their representative answer: “Hot- line “Nutricia” hearing you”. But besides information concerning breastfeeding, you can learn about products of Nutricia. Some recommendation relating to breastfeeding in the leaflet are not according to the recommendations of WHO, but instead, misleads readers and “complicates” breastfeeding.
